Southern Miss Invitational Collegiate Cross Country Meet Canceled; High School Meet Remains As Scheduled

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Invitational cross country meet for the colleges have been canceled, but the high school meet remains as scheduled beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the boys followed by the girls' teams.

The Golden Eagles' women's team will travel to Alabama for the Crimson Tide Cross Country Kickoff. Southern Miss returns its top five runners including All-Conference USA performer Stephanie Ledgerwood. Also returning are seniors Jocelyn Lockhart, Krista and Kara Moylan and junior Brittany Ware.

Head Cross Country Coach Kevin Ondrasek added five newcomers to this year's squad. Heading the list is Katie Canavin (Highland Village, Texas), Emily Hall (Arlington, Texas), Felice Johnson (Southlake, Texas), Sarah Smith (Collierville, Tenn.) and Rebecca Ulrich (Van Alstyne, Texas).

Following the Alabama meet, Southern Miss travels to the Auburn Invitational, Sept. 7.
