HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss track and field head coach Jon Stuart announced the addition of Aaron Kindt to the track and field staff as the cross country/track and field assistant coach.
"Aaron brings to Southern Miss a tremendous work ethic and passion for distance running," Stuart said. "He is a coach that can `do it all', from coaching to recruiting, while showing great care and respect for his athletes. I am extremely pleased he has joined our track and field family."
Prior to Southern Miss, Kindt served as assistant coach at the University of North Florida for the past two seasons. Kindt served as a volunteer assistant coach for the cross country and track programs at the University of Florida from 2010-12, assisting with the training and development of the distance athletes.
The Orlando, Fla., native graduated from the Florida in 2010 with a degree in geography. As a Gator, Kindt was a four-year letterwinner with the cross country and track and field programs. In track, he ran a wide range of distance events, including the 10k-meter (30:58), 5k-meter (14:54), 3k-meter (8:29) and 1500-meter (3:55).
