HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's and women's outdoor track and field teams travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 12-16.

The four day event is being held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University at the Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.

Events are slated to start Thursday May 12 with the day one of the heptathlon at 1:30 p.m.

"Our entire season relies on our performance at this championship and that's what we worked for all year long," head coach Jon Stuart said. "So, we want to be at our best at this conference championship. We are in good shape, we are healthy right now. I feel good about our chances. We are trying to improve upon our finishes last year and improve on our finish at the indoor season."

The Golden Eagles are looking to continue their success from the regular season. Senior's Elbert Rogers, Christopher Monroe, and Robert Wells look to lead the men's team. Mariam Kromah, Kayla Taylor, Adriana Allen, and Modesty Lorick look to lead the women's program during the championship.

"We have some veterans coming back and some talented newcomers that we expect to perform well," said Stuart. "We are in good shape and we going to go and do the best we can to give our best effort."
