Track and Field Head to Monroe for the Warhawk Classic
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss track and field teams head to Monroe, La. for a two-day meet on April 13-14. The Warhawk Classic, hosted by UL-Monroe will begin on Friday at 3 pm CT and on Saturday at 11 am.
The men’s and women’s hammer are set to open the meet with the javelin to follow on Friday with competition starting at 3 pm. Saturday begins with the pole vault at 11 am and the running events will start up after their senior recognition at 12:30 pm.
Southern Miss joins host team ULM along with LA Tech, McNeese, Grambling, Louisiana College, Northwestern St., Southern Arkansas, and Alcorn State.
The Golden Eagles competed in Tuscaloosa at the Crimson Tide Invite last weekend and picked up four event wins, a school record and a meet record. John Warren picked up C-USA Male Field Athlete of the Week honors after setting the new meet record in the triple jump with a mark of 15.61m.
