Cross Country Eagles Place Ninth at the Crimson Classic XC Meet

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Southern Miss cross country team claimed ninth-place at the Crimson Classic Cross Country meet Friday at the Harry Pritchett Course in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Sophomore Felice Johnson was the top Golden Eagle to cross the finish line in the as she finished 11th overall, covering the 5K course in a time of 17:45.07 only 20 seconds behind the individual winner.
Redshirt freshman Rebecca Ulrich placed 28th overall with a time of 18:02.72. Freshman Courtney Filliben (63) ran a time of 18:35.68 while freshman Daphney Stanford covered the course with a time of 18:35.91. Rounding out the Golden Eagle finishes included freshmen Katie Canavin (82) with a time of 18:54.73, Dana Dillistone (100) with a time of 19:18.98 and Kailey Hill (123) with a time of 19:58.97.
Southern Miss scored 248 points for ninth-place. Alabama won the team championship with 54 points with Mississippi State second with 80 points. Tennessee's Chelsea Blaase was the individual winner with a time of 17:21.19.
Southern Miss will compete in the Conference USA Cross Country hosted by North Texas, Nov. 2.
