Golden Eagles Finish Third at Rebel Invitational
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's cross country team placed third with 85 points at the Rebel Cross Country Invitational on Friday at the FNC Park.
“I am pleased with the poise and fight this young group displayed this evening." Coach Aaron Kindt said. Southern Miss finished behind Ole Miss (17), SE Missouri (45) while finishing ahead of Jackson State (115)
Each Golden Eagle turned good times as sophomore Chloe Tedder led the way for the Golden Eagles as she covered the 5K course in a time of in 19:12.02 placing 28th overall. Savannah McMillion was not far behind with a time of 19:15.04, Maggie Rice ran a time of 19:24.05, Madeleine Bell who recorded a time of 19:38.01. Rounding out the Southern Miss finishes included Rachel Tedder with a time of 20:04.00 and Devin McGee with a time of 20:33.20.
"Chloe Tedder really helped set the tone for our squad,” said Kindt. "Happy to see her hard work starting to pay off.”
“Savannah McMillon and Maggie Rice also provided solid performances,” said Kindt “looking forward to watching their progression this year.”
