JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Southern Miss' Randy McCoy recorded a personal-best time of 13.78 in qualifying for the 2014 NCAA National Outdoor Championship set for June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.

McCoy placed fourth in his respective heat. On Friday, McCoy recorded a time of 13.82 while placed second in his heat.

Other Golden Eagles competing in the NCAA East Preliminaries were Ethan Rich who had a throw of 59.56m (195-5) in the javelin. Robert Collingwood posted a throw of 17.87m (58-7.25).

Kayla Taylor recorded a throw of 48.47m (159-0) in the discus while Rachel Polk recorded a throw of 47.44m (155-8). Polk also had a throw of 14.86m (48-9) in the shot.

Richard Collingwood had a throw of 53.12m (174-3) in the discus. Courtland Wells finished with a jump 2.05m (6-8.75) in the high jump.

Elbert Rogers ran a time of 47.71 in the 400 meters in the preliminary round.
