Associate Athletic Director/Major Gifts
Brian Morrison begins his second year as the Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts, a position he began in March 2012.
Morrison returns to the department after a 14 - month stint with the University's Foundation where he served as a development officer.
As the director for major gifts, Morrison is tasked with identifying and securing donors for major and planned contributions to the athletic department. He is also charged with coordinating the process of receiving gifts used by the department for scholarships and other budgetary needs.
Morrison previously served the department as the Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Sales in 2008 after serving as the graduate assistant in 2007.
During his time in athletics, Morrison also assisted in increasing football ticket sales by 10 percent, setting a school record in 2008 as the University averaged recording-breaking crowds in both attendance and season average during the 2008 and 2009 football seasons. He oversaw, sold and serviced hospitality tailgating tent sales for football and baseball that generated over $18,000 per season.
He developed and implemented promotional tickets nights at basketball, baseball and football games, such as the "Family Four Packs," "Two for Tuesdays," "Military Mondays," and various others.
He also began a new ticket/annual fund package for recent USM graduates and in which it tripled in size in one year.
Morrison earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 2007 and his master's from Southern Miss in 2008.
