Southern Miss redshirt sophomore Emer Foley was named Southern Miss Student-Athlete of the week for her performance against Jacksonville State, Nov. 17.
Foley posted her first double-double of the season with career-highs of 36 points and 21 rebounds in the 81-61 victory. She shot 75 percent from the field, hitting 15-of-20 attempted shots and hit 6-of-7 free throws for a .857 accuracy. She also had four steals in 32 minutes of action.
Foley scored the first 12 points of the game and had 20 points and 11 rebounds at the end of the first half. She was responsible for 44.4 percent of Southern Miss' points and 35.6 percent of the team's rebounds.
She leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 25.3 and 12.0 per game, respectively. Her 25.3 ppg is tied for first in Conference USA, and she ranks second in the league in boards per game.
Southern Miss snapped Jacksonville State's three-game winning streak after the Golden Eagles shot 53.2 percent from the field compared to JSU's 27.3. USM also out rebounded the Gamecocks, 59-25.
She was also named the Conference USA Player of the Week.
