Sept. 29, 2011
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - SportSouth today announced the debut of its latest SportSouth Originals production, Spotlight: Southern Miss Athletics, a 30-minute special highlighting some of the key figures responsible for the success of the Golden Eagles' athletics department. Spotlight: Southern Miss Athletics debuts on SportSouth on Friday, September 30 at 10 p.m. ET.
Spotlight: Southern Miss Athletics features interviews with Director of Athletics Richard Giannini and three of the school's head coaches - football coach Larry Fedora, men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy and baseball coach Scott Berry. Fedora wears a wireless microphone and our glasses camera during practices to give viewers an all-access, behind-the-scenes look at the football program through the coach's eyes. Then Eustachy sits down to discuss how his tough, hard-nosed style of play has made Southern Miss men's basketball a contender year-in and year-out in the Conference USA. He also addresses how his tribulations at Iowa State have made him a better coach and man. And Berry talks about Southern Miss baseball's tradition of success and how the 2009 trip to the College World Series has propelled the program to new heights.
Spotlight: Southern Miss Athletics premieres on SportSouth on Friday, September 30 at 10 p.m. ET and has additional airings on:
