Sept. 19, 2011

How long have you been a supporter of the Eagle Club?
Since it began!

Where are you currently located?
I work at Southern Miss, in my 36th year, and live in Hattiesburg

What is your earliest memory of Southern Miss Athletics?
When I was a student we cheered for Coach Bower, when he was a quarterback, and Doyle Orange; I was a student the year we renovated "The Rock" and had to play all our games on the road.

Why do you support the Eagle Club and Southern Miss Athletics?
Because Golden Eagle athletics enriches the life of the entire university and gives students, alums and their families memories that last a lifetime.

You have season tickets to what sports?
All of them.

Were you a USM athlete? If so, how did the experience affect your life?
No, just an intramural phenom; Ha!

What is your favorite Southern Miss Athletics tradition?
The Right Field Roost

Who is your favorite Southern Miss coach or athlete, past or present?
Tough question. I have many: favorite coach: Corky Palmer; favorite player: a tie, Reggie Collier and Brett Favre.

What are three must-have items for your own personal tailgate?
All I need is a chair, some shade and a ticket to the game.

What is the best type of food to have at a tailgate?
Drumettes from Strick's Barbeque.

Why should more Southern Miss fans and supporters join the Eagle Club?
It's a great investment in scholarships for hard-working students.

From all of USM's athletic success, what is your favorite memory of all-time?
That's tough. I would have to say getting to Omaha, with the first Liberty Bowl victory over Pitt a close second. Beating Alabama, and the Bear, was not too shabby, either.

What is your favorite part about the game-day environment for any USM sports team?
Seeing friends old and new, and sharing a bond of enthusiasm for all things Southern Miss.

What is your favorite place on the campus of Southern Miss?
The Pete

What do you miss about Southern Miss?
I don't have to miss it, I am here every day, which is the best job in the world.

What piece of Southern Miss apparel can you not live without on game-day?
It doesn't matter, just so it's black and gold.

How were you introduced to Southern Miss and USM Athletics?
I started attending when I was an undergraduate and have enjoyed it now for nearly four decades.

Tell us what Southern Miss Athletics means to you.
It symbolizes the determination, resilience and persistence that is Southern Miss. Whether in academics or athletics, Southern Miss is a place that helps people from sometimes very ordinary backgrounds do extraordinary things.

What is your favorite Southern Miss cheer?
S-O-U-THERN, Southern Mississippi, U-S-M

What is your pregame ritual?
I pretty much just stay on the move, trying to see as many folks as I can.

Define Golden Eagle Pride?
Golden Eagle pride is different and distinctive: it is a quiet and steady assurance that we can compete and win against anyone. It is not arrogant or boastful; but rather Golden Eagle Pride is about strength, courage and determination.

What makes you the most passionate Golden Eagle Fan?
It is just fun to be a part of something bigger than yourself. SMTTT!
