HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Four Southern Miss head coaches, as well as four members of the football team, along with the Golden Eagle cheerleaders and Seymour will help kickoff the 2007 athletics season at the Central Mississippi Alumni All Star Party, which will be held, Thursday (July 19), at the Mississippi Trademart (1207 Mississippi St.) in Jackson.
Located on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds, the event at the Trademart starts at 5 p.m., with a social and silent auction, followed by a dinner at 6 p.m., and program to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Seventeenth-year football coach Jeff Bower, along with men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy, women's basketball coach Joye Lee-McNelis and baseball coach Corky Palmer will be in attendance for the event.
The players scheduled to appear at the event include junior linebacker Tokumbo Abanikanda, sophomore linebacker and 2006 Freshman All-American Gerald McRath, senior and two-time All-Conference USA offensive lineman Chris Clark and senior quarterback and Jackson native, Jeremy Young.
The four Golden Eagle players were a part of a team that captured its 13-straight winning season, a fifth-straight bowl appearance and ninth in the last 10 seasons and look to improve on its 9-5 football record and C-USA East Division Championship from a season ago.
Admission is $15 per person in advance online at SouthernMissAlumni.com (click on Central MS All Star Party under Upcoming Events down the right column) and $18 per person at the door. Children under 12 will be admitted free to the event.
