Samantha Papp to Receive C-USA Spring Spirit of Service Award

IRVING, Texas- Conference USA announced 14 student-athletes that will be receiving the C-USA Spring Spirit of Service Award today. The Spirit of Service Award is designed to recognize the efforts of the student-athlete based upon community service, academic standing and participation in their sport including Southern Miss’ Samantha Papp.

The Oak Grove native is on track to graduate in May 2019 with a 4.0 GPA in special education in the Honors College. She was named to the 2018 C-USA Softball All-Academic Team this year, as well as earning the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Papp started all 55 games with 54 behind the plate. She ranked second on the team in multi0hit games and led the team in hits, RBI and total bases. The junior has contributed to the community through volunteer efforts with the Arc of Southern Mississippi, Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels and the SAAC Hunger Food Drive.
