Summer Events Kick Off Football Campaign

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Join head coaches Jeff Bower, Larry Eustachy, Joye Lee-McNelis and Corky Palmer, as well as the Southern Miss cheerleaders and Seymour, as the Alumni Association helps kick off the 2006 football season.

The 23rd Annual Southern Miss All-Star Party will be held Thursday, July 20, at Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson. One week later, the Gulf Coast Beach Bash will be held at the IP Casino in Biloxi. And on Saturday, Aug. 12, the 11th Annual Eagle Fanfare will be held at the Payne Center on the Hattiesburg campus.

Hosted by the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter, the All-Star Party will feature a silent auction/social at 5 p.m., with dinner following at 6 p.m. In addition to the coaches, standout Golden Eagle football players will also be present for the event.

The event is sponsored by Cellular South and WJNT Newstalk radio in Jackson.

The Gulf Coast Beach Bash on July 27, hosted by the Gulf Coast Metro and Southeast Mississippi Alumni Chapter, features a social from 5 to 6 p.m., with dinner following at 6 p.m. Both the social and dinner will be held at the IP Casino in Biloxi.

As they will at the All-Star Party, standout football players also will be present at the Beach Bash.

Tickets are $15 a person. Admission for children ages 6-12 is $8. Children under 6 may enter free of charge.

Rounding out the trio of summer events is the 11th Annual Eagle Fanfare, presented by The First.

At the event you'll have an opportunity to mingle not just with coaches, Seymour and cheerleaders, but the entire Golden Eagle football team as they prepare for the 2006 season.

Dinner and silent auction will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., with a special program beginning at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults; $8 in advance and $10 at the door for children 5-12; and free for children under 5. Tickets can be purchased from the Pat Ferlise Center at 601.266.5418 or the Ogletree Alumni House at 601.266.5013. Each ticket purchased will qualify the ticket holder for a tailgating package drawing courtesy of Campus Book Mart, one of the event's sponsors.

Other sponsors include the Hattiesburg American, Taylor Rental and Rock 104. The 11th Annual Eagle Fanfare is hosted by the South Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter.
