25 Golden Eagle Student-Athletes Receive Degrees During Spring Commencement

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Twenty-five Southern Miss student-athletes earned their degrees Fin commencement ceremonies, Friday, May 9, at Reed Green Coliseum.

Baseball led the way with six players graduating, which included Barry Bowden, Drew Carson, David Clark, Bo Davis, Trey Sutton and Keith Winstead.

Track and Field had five student-athletes get their degrees conferred as Marvin Pinnock, Jemarie Alcordo, Hana Prudilova, Stephanie Jones-DuBose and Kimberly Williams all achieved their undergraduate degrees.

Football had four graduating players, including Robert Henderson, Brett Hicks, Darren McCaleb and Justin Whiddon. Hicks and Whiddon will both return for their final season of eligibility in 2008.

Soccer had two graduating student-athletes, including Erin Bunyard and Jackie Ryan, while Helena Backlund and Jennifer Bodeman, members of the Golden Eagle women's golf team, and Ali Blackett and Brittany Serret of women's tennis also graduated.

Rounding out the remaining graduating student-athletes, included Dylan Mezey, men's tennis, Jennifer Fox, softball, Morgan Johnson, volleyball, and Liz Biland of women's basketball.
