HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced Monday a new program called Go Gold Business Partners which will be established within the Eagle Club.
The purpose of the Go Gold Business Partners program is to develop relationships between the businesses that support the Eagle Club and Southern Miss fans. The motto 'Eagles Supporting Eagles' describes the program perfectly. Businesses in the community understand the importance of supporting Southern Miss, and the goal of the Go Gold Business Partners program is to encourage Southern Miss alumni, friends, and fans to support these businesses.
"The Eagle Club is proud to announce this new addition to its existing giving levels," said Chad Foote, Southern Miss Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director of the Eagle Club. "Our vision for the Go Gold Business Partners is to encourage companies and businesses to show their Go Gold spirit and support Southern Miss Athletics through philanthropic endeavors. With this new initiative, we look to increase annual giving and funding of our athletic scholarships while also decorating Hattiesburg in Black and Gold."
This is an endeavor that community business leaders have endorsed including Ron Savell, owner and operator of both Mugshots Grill and Bar and Brewsky's.
"When Chad Foote explained to me the concept of the Go Gold Business Partners and asked me to join, I jumped at the chance," said Savell. "I have always supported Southern Miss Athletics and feel like this is just another way I can give back to the school and athletic department that I love."
The Go Gold Business Partners feature three giving levels at $500, $1,000 and $1,500.
Each member will be mentioned on the Eagle Club Facebook and Twitter pages as well as receive an exclusive Business Eagle Club flag and t-shirt, their business name will be listed in the phone directory that will be sent to all Eagle Club members, an invitation to an annual social, a discount card, a window decal and sticker, either a team autographed football, basketball or baseball, a plaque to recognize their membership and there will be a weekly business e-letter sent to all Eagle Club members.
At the $1000 level, businesses will also receive a $500 Eagle Club membership and 10 single-game home tickets to the sport of their choosing. At the $1,500 level, businesses will be able to get a $500 Eagle Club membership, 30 single-game home tickets to the Southern Miss sport of their choosing and their business information included in a visitor's guide that will be mailed to both donors and visiting teams during the year.
