Kendra Reed Named Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week
Lady Eagle basketball player Kendra Reed was selected as the Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week for her game performance that helped Southern Miss post a 2-0 record over the weekend against Memphis and UAB.

Kendra Reed averaged 25.5 points and 4.5 rebounds over weekend games against Memphis and UAB. She shot 48 percent (12-25) from the floor, 66 percent (4-6) behind the arc and shot 88.5 percent (23-26) from the free throw line. Against Memphis (2/17), Reed scored 18 points along with two assists and three steals in the team's 73-50 victory over Memphis. She scored a career-high 33 points in a 76-66 win against UAB (2/19).
Against UAB, Reed connected on 18 free throws in a row, breaking an 18-year old record for free throws made in a game. She also tied the record for most free throw attempts in a game with 20.
For the season, she leads the team in points scored with a 15.1 average while also averaging 5.2 rebounds per game.
