Brian Morrison, who held the role of Associate Athletics Director of Major Gifts since March of 2012, was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development in September of 2015.
Morrison is charged with leading all athletic foundation development operations, coordinating the process of receiving gifts used by the department for scholarships, capital improvements and other budgetary needs and premium seating sales/ operations at all athletic facilities. He is also tasked with identifying and securing donors for major and planned contributions to the athletic department.
Morrison has been an integral part in leading the fundraising efforts and coordination of two facility projects; The Southern Miss Golf Short Game Facility at the Hattiesburg Country Club and the Southern Miss Baseball Performance Center. He has been involved in securing multiple private seven figure gifts and oversees the Circle of Champions program which currently has over 150 members.
Morrison returned to the department after a 14-month stint with the University's Foundation where he served as a development officer securing major gifts for all academic units of the University.
Morrison previously served the department as the Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Sales from 2008-11 after serving as the sports marketing graduate assistant in 2007.
During his time with the athletics marketing and sales department, Morrison assisted in increasing football ticket sales by 10 percent, setting a school record in 2008 as the University averaged recording-breaking crowds in both attendance and season average during the 2008 and 2009 football seasons. He oversaw, sold and serviced hospitality tailgating tent sales for football and baseball, developed and implemented promotional ticket nights at basketball, baseball and football games and began the recent graduate Eagle Club/ season ticket package that tripled in size over one year.
Morrison earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 2007 and his master's from Southern Miss in 2008. He and his wife, Casey reside in the Oak Grove area.
